Throughout his class, I have learned about various different things that affect our environment however, it makes me sad that there are so many vulnerable populations that are not protected. For example, children are constantly put at risk for negative health effects of various. In the article, it discussed lead. As we know, this is extremely dangerous however, there are still companies that do not want to acknowledge the risks that led have on things such as IQ. Lead is scary because you do not usually become symptomatic until after a long time of being exposed to lead. However, once symptoms develop, it can become pretty serious quickly.
When I think about the amount of things we are exposed to it makes me sad. Especially since we have the opportunity to learn about these things & get the information we need to make more informed decisions. I think it is greatly different for those who have less access and less education on the matter.
ReplyDeleteOne of the biggest things I took away from this class is how children are always the most at risk, but politicians are doing little to nothing about it.
