Since I live in California, this is one of the many ways people can reach out and help others. I have also found that the American Red Cross accepts volunteers and has a great need for them especially during disasters. It is inspiring to be able to volunteer through organizations such as this because it very involved with public health. As a nurse, I am also able to use my abilities and what I have learned to help those who are faced with disasters. I think this is one of the most rewarding this I have done this far. Although I wished there weren’t disasters, I am glad to know that many people are willing to come and volunteer during a time of need.
I think the fact that you are a nurse is so amazing because it means you can help people regardless of emergency status. The fact that your training has prepared you to deal with emergency situations is just a plus.
ReplyDeleteI share the same relief that people are still waiting to help in times of a disaster. One can only hope it doesn't take a disaster for people to begin helping one another.
