Consider your topic of interest for your literature review. What agencies at the local, state, federal, and/or international level provide information, regulatory oversight, or are otherwise implicated in addressing that topic?
I am interested at looking at how pesticides affect immigrant farmworkers over a long period of time. Many times, people do not realize the effects of handling of breathing in these toxins have on them. Farm workers are surrounded by pesticides daily and often have respiratory issues which is why I am interested to see if this somehow relates. There are various entities that are responsible to addressing the topic of pesticides in agriculture. Agencies that address this topic would include Department of Health and Human Services, Environmental Protection Agency, United States Department of Agriculture, California Department of Food and Agriculture and Food Safety and Inspection Service to name a few.

ReplyDeleteI cant wait to hear your presentation. I commented on Chris' post and mentioned that I think it would be very interesting to see how the chemicals affect farm workers. I think there is a larger risk associated with being a farmer worker and chemical exposure. What does it mean for their health?
