I choose to look at the Department of Health and Human Services. This department is great because it does a lot to protect the public and ensure people are healthy and safe. Along with that, it supports research related to environmental health and the health effects of things such as global climate change. It focuses mainly on things like heat-related morbidity and mortality, respiratory effects, change in transmission of infectious diseases, etc. Through the CDC and NIH it is the DHHS is able to understand the environmental aspects of health a lot more thoroughly.
The Department of Health and Human Services definitely has a large role to play in keeping people and the environment healthy and safe. It's good to know that they recognize a collaborative effort is the best way to effectively address health issues since they work with the CDC and NIH as wel.
